Payment is to be via PayPal (I pay fees), shipping address must be verified address on your account. Comes with body cap for bayonet side, snap-case, and original box. Minor marks/scratches on plastic body, nothing that affects function. This isn't going to take the place of a good set of binos for comfortable viewing, but if you're walking around with your kit and occasionally need a closer view of something far away, this doesn't take up much space and weighs next to nothing.Ĭondition of magnifying glass is perfect, no scratches. Eyecup isn't the greatest as it could stand to be bigger, more light-blocking, more comfortable. I think it adds a bit of CA (or makes it more visible), but quality of view will depend mostly on the lens you put it on. View through the eyepiece is clear and undistorted. (In daylight you can stop down to f/8 or so and still have it be bright enough for viewing.) You focus with the lens, and if needed you can stop down the aperture a bit to increase DoF. No adjustments of any kind on the adapter. Quite secure though as long as you remember that it is going to come off with a simple twist.) (For some reason no locking button - it doesn't click-lock onto lens and so just a friction fit on the bayonet. With a slim 50 or pancake 40, you'd have a very compact scope that still has decent magnification.ĭead simple design, just an magnifying eyepiece attached to a bayonet mount. If you put this thing on a real telephoto lens (greater than 135mm, say) you'll have a tough time looking through it - might be ok on a tripod. Magnification is pretty high - turns a 50mm lens into a 5x scope, or a 100mm lens into a 10x scope.
#Vivitar telescope manual
Probably not the greatest for AF lenses even if they do have an aperture ring because you need to manually focus and many AF lenses have poor grips for manual focus. It does not engage the aperture lever, and so you must use on lenses with an aperture ring or else they will be stopped all the way down and it will be too dark to see anything.

ONLY GOOD FOR LENSES WITH AN APERTURE RING. Nifty adapter that turns Pentax lenses into telescopes / spotting scopes. Vivitar TLA-1 telescopic lens adapter for PK mount.
